Life on Foot: Day Eleven

Finally prevailed upon my flatmate to let me walk in to work this morning; it made no sense for her to have to make two trips downtown (she has an appointment later in the day), and she was in no shape this morning to argue. In what may be an unrelated development, even after devouring the lion's share of the pizza we ordered for company, I shed one pound of the three I put on after the previous night's three helpings of spaghetti and garlic bread.

This weighing every day thing isn't so good: even the weight-loss programs now often advise once a week instead. Weight can be affected by so many temporary things, from how much water you're retaining (not just women--also, for instance, due to salt) to how much food is in your digestive system. Not to mention--actually, I think another comment on your previous entry did mention--building muscles. I mention this mainly because a gain seems to get you down, and weekly weighing might avoid that emotional roller-coaster.

But/and walking is really, really good for people, totally apart from weight gain or loss. For that reason, I enjoy reading about your life on foot, and I say, bravo!

I weigh in whenever the scale in our basement locker room is at hand. (Or at foot, really.) Just idle curiosity, as weight loss wasn't my primary objective.
