Made a very late start on our trip to Albuquerque, first layover on our drive to Vegas. Stopped off in Walsenberg to see if the woman I met playing poker in Cripple Creek was working at the local cantina; she was off but I got to meet her mother. On to Sandia, where I won $5 on the free chips they gave me, to The Downs, where we risked $300 to win $10 in free slot play and came out $8 ahead, and Rio Puerco, where I used $29 in comps from the Route 66 Casino to fill up my gas tank. Not a horrible start to the trip. Tomorrow night: Kingman! That's the plan, anyway.
